Weapons are an essential part of character progression within the game. Weapons are classified as Collectible Items which affect the "Arrows", or projectile portrait at the top of the screen, or in some way affect the projectile as it appears in the game world. Some of these effects can combine with each other, while others will simply override previous upgrades. They can be found in Treasure Rooms, by defeating Bosses, unlocking Golden Chests, purchased from Shops, spawned by Beggars, blowing up an "X Marks the Spot" rock or obtained from the Devil.

|Number One||Rapid fire rate but decreased range.|
|Ouija Board||Allows the player's shots to go through rocks or obstacles.|
|Sad Onion||Doubles the attack speed (two tears are showed in missile box).|

|Spoon Bender||Homing shots. Range upgrades will improve shots, allowing them the time to slingshot around enemies and hit them.|

Penetrating shots. Removes knockback.
Transforms tears into bombs.
This item completely changes your playstyle (for example, Flies become much more difficult foes, while knights and Chub - the easiest). Deployable bombs are no longer needed (only if you need very precise explosion to make bridge, for example). Opening secret rooms and blue rocks also becomes much easier. Firing rate is decreased to bomb explode time. Range is not so big (about "2" usual range) but also not affected by back/forth momentum. Bombs ignore pits but not rocks. All moving monsters (even flying) except globins, guts and Larry JR can be stopped with bomb if thrown at them (Bombs slide through globins after they regenerate first time). Bouncing against walls seems to depend on bomb speed. "Wafer", "Mr. Mega" and "Bobby-Bomb" are applied onto the bombs, making this weapon even more effective.
Triple shots, but the lowest attack speed. Has chance for any of the tears to turn spectral.
A grub is attached to shot sometimes, eating its way through living things.

Rapid fire rate but decreased range. It also appears that projectiles are shot from the lower half of the body and the eyes close, indicating that they aren't tears. Projectiles in this manner are similar to Peep's, leaving urine markings on the floor.
Allows the player's shots to go through rocks or obstacles, but unlike other piercing upgrades will not pierce enemies and will not damage Knights from the front. Will not penetrate enemies if mixed with My Reflection.
Shots will be stopped by stone-shooting-enemies-faces, but they will be moved by the shot.
Tears go through fires, poo piles, TNT barrels and extinguish them at a potentially slower rate than usual (unless combined with Technology, in which case they're all destroyed instantly). Familiars' shots are not affected by some of these changes. For instance, Brother Bobby's tears will still put out fires. Available in Devil Room and Item Room.

After tears hit they split.
Firing at a monster or a solid surface causes tears to split in a perpendicular fashion (if shot sideways, they split to top and bottom and vice versa). The distance of the 2 shots that split from the original depends on the remaining distance that the original shot had left, had it not hit.
Wave shot that sways side-to-side, these projectiles can not be angled, they will always fly in the direction they were fired. Also, they can sway around objects or enemies to get into hard to reach spots.
