Strange game file[]
AishaLove 02:36, October 5, 2011 (UTC)I have noticed a file in the game folder called "myfile.txt" witch only contians the number "10" the game is constantly deleting and remaking this file. if the file is set to read only nothing happens, if you change the contents and set it to read only eventually the game crashes.
Perhaps we can figure out what this file does?

The 0s (or 1s) seperated by a " ' " at the end of the huge number seem to indicate what items you have found in the game. You can edit all of them to 1s and the game will show you a full collection. Possibly all unlockables are somewhere in that number...
I was also able to change the number of Deaths and Mother Kills, thus gaining achievments and unlocking more items i should have already collected ^^
I'd apreciate the contents of a serial file from someone who beat the whole game (all unlockables).

For all that wanna know: It updates everytime you leave a Room. And mom is missing because I restarted everything to research this file. And had since then (yesterday) only 2 bad runs.

The coding is really messy, no wonder stuff like unlocking conquest wouldn't work at first.

"I AM ERROR" room[]
I found a new room that I had previously never heard of.

Who can conduct research about damage modifier and monster hp? You just need to kill different monsters with different damage multiplier, and put number of hits needed here. When it'll be enough data, I'll calculate exact values. Beware, some item like blood of martyr change displayed stat only on next battle, so look carefully on stats while fighting.
Auto Shutdown[]
Is it just me, or will the game shut down of its own accord if ignored for too long. I was playing at work, paused to do some work and now it's gone. I think this has happened to me before.

New Christmas BOSS?!?!?!?[]
New Christmas boss!?!?!?!?
I was just playing through trying to get dark boy and a devil door appeared at the end of the basement 2. Upon entering I found myself battling a new boss Ive never seen before "The Kraumpas" He pretty much is a new skin of the third form of the final Sheol boss. After I defeated him I got a new secret that says "You got a gift from Krampus: a lump of coal!?" also he left a new item on a pedestal. The item was a lump of coal it turned my sprites face dirty and black but had no apparent other effects on stats or anything I could determine. Has anyone else seen this and does anyone know what the "lump of coal" item does? I included photos of the secret, my sprite with a black face, and the item as it appeared in the pause menu. I wish I had taken some during the fight.
Yes it is a new boss for x-mass (namely the steam winter sale) beating that boss is supposed to get you another steam achivment and the coal item has an additional affect of turning your tears black.

Admins, i think, that u must create page about some ideas about the plot, sending to somethings and understanding of the game. Maybe anyonr can edit it, but... For example - what was ending with It Lives? He is her heart? Or what? Its kind of intresting. Some players have some ideas and it will be fun to write and dusqiuss about that. Is there an Admin in the house?[]
Is there an active admin still on this wiki? If not, someone needs to get in contact with the old admin and appoint/elect new admins/beaurocrats to maintain this wiki in the coming months, especially with the HUGE content update on the horizon, which we'll hopefully handle one step at a time, but at the moment, until an admin comes to this server we're just going to get walked over by spammers and cluttered with junk pages we cannot get rid of.

Read Only?[]
Seems the wiki is now read only... don't know why this is or who made the change or their reasons and so on, but a little warning would be nice.
In the meantime, in regards to the "Combos" page... since I cannot comment or edit it at the moment:
This page is mildly purposeless... mainly because you can rarely control what you get (even with the D6) and even then, the odds lean towards you deciding what NOT to take instead. So what's the point? Just list powerful combos? I think a better use of this page would be a guide on building a better character/utilizing your treasures to the fullest as opposed to listing obscure item combos you will rarely get. Otherwise, the only other imaginable purpose of this page would be to point out unusual item combos such as technology and chocolate milk, or the such which cause strange/unexpected effects (brimstone + choc milk = wtf) and so on. Simply listing item combos or bragging seems more like something for personal pages or blogs.
Besides that, I think this wiki needs to expand with more admins/'crats to keep it in check, esp. with the upcoming DLC. I'd be happy to lend a hand, as would a few others on this site, so, to the admin(s), we're (or at least I am) here if you need us.
Devil Begger not killing me when I give him all my hearts...[]
I encountered a Devil begger and decided that I wanted to give him all of my hearts to kill myself (because I love to live dangerously) but what I found was that I was unable to do that. I kept feeding him hearts even past whatever hearts I had and he kept giving me items. Is it a glitch currently that this is the case? Or is it working as intended? Can someone please help me confirm this and maybe even try it with the blood donation machine? If it's working as intended then it can be very profitable to keep feeding him hearts and then after getting all you want from him heal heal yourself with a full health pill or something. Make The Collection Page Give Quick Links To The Items.[]
Even though i love that the WIKI shows what weapon does what, i wish there was a easier way to find the item you wanted. So i'm suggesting that when you click on a item in the collection page, it will bring you directly to that item.
After some tinkering the WotL Collection Page now does that.
Suggestion for expansion of each of the level articles[]
I've noticed over time, as I'm sure everyone has, that the rooms do not 100% randomly generate. Rather, they are preset and randomly selected to fill the maps of the floor. This being the case, I think it would be in interest of the wiki to provide a subpage for The Basement, The Caves, etc. that showcases a gallery of all the room layouts, from the sheer number of regular rooms, to the small variations for boss rooms, to specialized rooms that always remains remain the same. Basically, I'm asking two things: May I get a responsible admin or veteran member to start subpages for each of the levels, and would it be too much to ask for help from others in doing this project?
Assuming I am getting people on the bandwagon for this, it shouldn't be too hard to accomplish. Simply 'Print Screen' as soon as you enter a room so as to show where enemies, obstacles, and items spawn, and save it and upload it to its respective page. Clean up can be managed after we have a bulk of the rooms on their pages.

Update ideas[]
Is it possible to get an update that will allow someone to play through a game on the binding of isaac and being able to choose the items to play through it with. This could be added as a challenge 11 and only be unlocked if all ten of the challenges have been completed. Can someone tell me wether this is a good update idea or not cause i want to play this game more and it is becoming boring each time with me not being able to reuse certain items.

I have the urge to slap you right now. The game will never update again unless it's a bug fix, Edmund is DONE with the game for good, Edmund has specified a number of times he is working on other games now, the Binding of Isaac is CLOSED. There is no challenge 11, and being able to choose items is the laziest thing I have heard anyone say, it would ruin the fun of the game. Not only is it a horrible idea, but there is no possible chance it will ever, and I cannot stress this enough, ever be implemented.

It's also impossible to add more to Binding of Isaac (Flash file has reached critical mass and any addition is more likely to mess up the whole game).

Sheol Boss Glitch[]
Satan boss glitch?
Got to the part of Satan's hooves and 1hko glitches out the boss. Creates the Satan statue and an invisible force that damages Isaac, but it is able to be pushed offscreen along with the Satan statue. I don't if it's the same as the poison glitch (where the fight becomes uncompleteable when the boss dies in transition).

So I am a new member and I recently joined this community just to hear that its dying. Well I hope I can help give this community a little mouth to mouth.
I joined because I was having problems viewing the items pages. I wasn't able to see all the images of each item. I at first thought it was a content problem in the wikia. So I went and registered and looked on the forums and saw nothing explaining my problem. I then went to the chat room and was eventually greeted by one of the mods(forget who it was... sorry). He could not help me with my situation but I was determined to fix it. I love playing BOI and cannot live without my items and their corresponding pictures.
I then was at a loss and wanted to see exactly what was going on with the page. I will prefeace this by saying that I am a computer programmer that deals with websites all day and I wanted to get to the root of the problem by using Firebug. I found an error was happening while trying to load the images.

I was able to google that and found it seemed it was only for firefox :(

The missing pictures seem to be caused by an upgrade of the wiki software. This wiki's version is pretty old, so it often messes up with new updates.
To be honest, I didn't look into the missing pictures, because the page is going to be split up very soon anyway.
For now you could use this page as substitute for image based searches.

Why in the hell is the home page featuring a different game? This is a wiki; we don't advertise other games, we givie information about a topic. Menu bar[]
It would be nice to have "Collection" or "By Picture" as a sub-link of "Items" in the navigation bar at the top.

I improved the navigation bar a bit. Added the Collection under the tab "Mechanics". Also there are two two tabs called rooms which list all of them. Other than that I added some dropdown options for people who want specific entries of certain entries (a certain harbinger instead of the general page for example).

Satan-like Boss in the Catacombs?[]
Today, I fought a boss in the catacombs that looked just like Satan. His first form acted like Gemini, chasing and attacking me. After a few minutes, zapping him with my Technology, there were 2 smaller versions of him. Then I defeated them, and The Mark was awarded to me. His image looked exactly the same as Satan, but I was so surprised that I accidently skipped it's intro cutscene thing (Isaac crying next to the specific boss)! Can anyone tell me what this boss was, and if anyone else has seen this in their game?

I recently found out a way to link all the Item sites between our wikis. A month (or so) we already linked the mainpages and now, since our item pages are done, I thought it may be useful to link ALL items, too.
You won't have to do anything, but if you have a BOT-User, the "latest changes" site won't be spammed, otherwise: it will have 189 changes ^^
If you want to change everything by yourself, please use your "Items" Cagetory and use the Auto Wiki Browser. You simply append the following: (use the code-view)

TINTED ROCK PONY!?[]
I was watching a Northernlion video and he was using a bomb to break a tinted rock and Isaac with the effects of the Mitre, the Book of Shadows, and a Pony came out of the rock and started aimlessly floating around! Isaac's clone wasn't in the sitting position on the pony, and I don't know if it was a bug or easter egg or what, but it scared the heck out of Northernlion and I. Please answer!!! >A<

Requiring source .jpg files[]
Hello there, I am currently working on a new Version of the Character Template and thought about a tabber which would include the view on the character from the sides. I do, however, need the pictures of those views, as I do not have any idea on how to extract files from the game, I am requesting help here. The only thing I need are pictures of every character from every possible perspective without any background for easier implemention. You can check our current progress on the template on the german wiki.
I would be pleased with any help, hit me up on Steam for easier communication.

A tabber just for side views is completely pointless and time-consuming. It isn't needed at all. Also, I don't want to change things just for the sake of changing them. The main purpose for that template is atm to train my CSS-progress and try out new stuff. I see that a large template doesn't serve any informative standarts, but I would like the appearance of it as it would look better than our old ones. That's at least what I think.

About: The current look of the wiki[]
Hey there folks, I was just curious about your current look, the whole wiki looks kinda messed up, probably because of Wikias new abomination called Darwin. Front page might need some fixing in my eyes, I'd like to help, if you accept that.
Also: Have you requested to use Darwin or did Wikia just implement the Update into your wiki without asking you? It's optional as far as I know and I'm curious.

Well, for me the width of the wiki is far wider than it used to be, which causes the buttons for the content to line up according to their table-positions, but not wide-spread. I hope I can clarify what I mean.

I won in the wrong order?[]
I watch people play BOI a lot, so i know what to do, but i still only beat mom once since i only got the game recently and i am still bad at dodging. I then lost a few attempts, but then got on a run where i was pretty powerful. i got down to the womb 2, but i took a random telepills. i got transported to the i am error room, so i got curious and went down the hatch. I beat seoul and mom's knife appeared in the basement, and i got that ending. What happens now, i still haven't beat moms heart yet?

I don't believe that a wikia has to be made for one game only. In your opinion, a game and its sequel/remake has to be added in separate Wikia? Just to waste time and confund people? Have you ever seen one Wikia for each Fallout? Or one wikia for each The Legend of Zelda? By the way, this is something worst than a simple "fork": Rebirth is on Gamepedia, not on Wikia, so the excuse about "making a mess on this wikia" is just absurd (I will make the pages, if you are too tired to sort the mess). Layout Mishap[]
Under the list of games (the third tab on the home page of the wiki) the pictures are too large, and cut off the Rebirth image (at least, for me). I would suggest that the images be turned into a smaller sized thumbnail for better refinement in the overall look of the home page. Thank you for reading. Wiki Cluttered for no reason[]
People have been adding rebirth pages to the wiki for hte original Binding of isaac, and it has been very annoying. I dont need to be spammed by onslaughts of pages of unrelated items and rooms while im only looking for one thing. If you guys have not noticed already, there has been a wiki up just for rebirth for a long time now: www.[link removed]
So please, learn how to get things where they should be, and know how to keep things out of places they should not be in.
