What is the third paragraph trying to say? It is a garbled mess of nonsense to me. Lorkn Talk 18:05, February 15, 2013 (UTC)

I tried to explain that by cleverly using the paw, you can take 4 times the damage you normally could. And A bit of explanation how it works. Feel free to improve it.

Bug[]

I've added this bug section but the edit has been undone: http://bindingofisaac.wikia.com/wiki/Guppy%27s_Paw?oldid=76825

The effect is definitely a bug. Picking up an item from the devil room wich needs NORMAL heart containers will delete all your SOUL hearts. You'll get a blank space on HP area with no heart or soul containers at all.

People interested try to replicate it while holding the polaroid and you'll get the bug again.

To replicate the bug:

  • Enter a Devil Room with the Polaroid
  • If there is any item which needs red hearts do not pick it yet.
  • Convert all your red hearts into soul hearts
  • Pick up the devil item which needs red hearts.
  • After picking it up, ALL the hearts will be removed, and you'll have zero red hearts and zero soul hearts.

In my case I had over a dozen of soul hearts and they were all deleted when picking a 2 red hearts item.

Just a warning: Don't use this item with max heart containers. Even if you're missing hearts, if you have 12 heart containers you will NOT gain any spirit hearts. This should go without saying, but I was dumb enough to do it and it was a complete waste of a heart.

If you have hearts off the screen, you will get the soul hearts, they're just still off the screen and you can't see them until you clear away more heart containers, at least to my knowledge. Any proof of the otherwise would be nice.

I just used this item at 1 half heart left, and it killed me. The wiki page appears to be wrong.86.42.160.99 21:57, July 21, 2013 (UTC)

Doesn't state that you'll live for being at a half heart. It would not have killed you if your heart was full. Oil Rope Bombs (talk) 00:44, July 22, 2013 (UTC)
