Mr. Maw

Mr Maw can be found mainly in The Depths.

Abilities:Edit

Walks towards the player in manner similar to Gapers or Globins. When it gets within a few squares it launches its head (still attached) away from the body. If the head is destroyed first it becomes a Pacer; if the body is killed first it becomes a Maw. It also seems to be possible to shoot a Mr. Maw in the neck while its head is extended to split it into both a Pacer and a Maw . Note that sometimes, you don't even need to shoot him in the neck -- he'll separate into a Pacer and a Maw on his own, though this may be more likely if his head hits an obstacle.

Glitches:

Sometimes a graphical glitch can occur, where Mr. Maw's head, when launched at the player, will asume the graphic and behavior of the body, as pictured.

Note that when a Mr. Mow with the graphical glitch separates his head from his body, the head will turn into a body without the moving animation, and upon attack, the glitched head will become invinsible.

So I entered a room with 4 of these guys, and then one of them just randomly turned into a "red maw" (the ones that follow you and explode on death) so I killed it, and an invisible maw was still shooting at me! So I killed it too. Some glitch huh?

When i use mom's contacts and freeze these guys when i assume they are throwing their head at you, sometimes a Maw spawns from the frozen Mr. Maw and shoots at me until it dissappears when Mr. Maw unfreezes.
Can someone confirm this for me, i don't have recording software but it's basically if you freeze them at the right moment, a maw spawns and shoots at you for a bit.

Yep, the head part turns invisible sometimes after its body is killed. Really annoying.

Another reason to hate these guys: Today I encountered two of them in a room, I killed one of them and when the other went to stretch his neck, a body was attacked to the end of it. I couldnt hit the origional body so I killed the "head" body, and then the floating head became invisible! the only thing i could see was the projectiles, the maw part was completely invisible to me, no shadow or anything. I'm pretty sure this is a bug, let me know if anyone else has encountered this.

Never petrify them with mom's contact. They will spawn a Maw for the time they are in this state. Probably a bug, but an annoying one.

I had a really weird bug today. A Mr. Maw was shooting his body instead of his head. He had a normal head when his neck was short, but a pacer body for a head when extended. http://i.imgur.com/qkFAF.png
I think it might have to do with me using Mom's Pad on a group of Mr. Maws in another room; In this other room, one of the heads became invisible after it detached.

Same thing happened to me as well. Really odd to see at first, then I quickly stopped gawking and killed it. Only had 1/2 heart left.

This just happened to me today. I almost didn't believe it because I killed half of it almost immediately. :P

I can't stand these things, they piss me off so much, especially when they killed me once, twice, thirty-two times! The only things I hate more are Leapers, Chargers, and the Alternate Knights, but these guys seem hilarious to watch them swing their big, stupid heads willy-nilly.

hey, i don't know if this is a glitch, but just now, i was against 4 Mr. Maws then one of them stretched their neck to attack me and i was hit and i was close to a door, as i was hit, i was somehow pushed to the other room! probably a bug. btw, hate these bastards, that goes for leapers too. :D
